What to Pack In Your Emergency Bridal Kit.

Hi all!

As titled, today I'll talk about the emergency bridal kit that every bride should have on their actual wedding day. I'll be listing down the things that were actually helpful to have and what I thought was useful but end up did not use.

Please note that your bridal kit is not all that you need to bring for your wedding day. Bridal kit is just a bag of useful things you will need when you go around before you reach the hotel room. You will have a much bigger bag for other props and whatnot, while bridal kits come in all sorts of size, some has a big tote bag, while some only needs a small pouch.

Things I Packed That Were Actually Useful:

1. Panadol ActiFast - You can easily get headaches due to lack of sleep and stress.

2. Very Small Bottle of Water WITH Straw - So you stay hydrated and the straw will prevent your lip colour from smudging. Mine was a 200ml Evians. I do not recommend other drinks as they can increase your rate of wanting to visit the toilet. Water actually makes you want to pee the least/slowest.

3. Bobby Pins - Your perspiration and the humidity in Singapore might weigh your hair fringe down or cause strands of hair to stray. When it happens you can just pin them up for a quick fix.

4. Makeup Sponge/Cushion Compact - So you can dab dab dab when your foundation smudges, cakes or creases. Especially around eye and mouth area.

5. Compact Mirror - To check yourself out. If your cushion compact has one then you don't need another.

6. Lip Stick - For touching up. Choose a versatile colour, or a colour close to what your MUA used.

7. Lip Balm - You won't want chap lips on your wedding day!

8. Tissues - For wiping away the perspiration and blotting off oil on face.

9. Wet Tissue - For wiping off any stains on white gown/shoes etc.

My bridal bag (white, left). Got it for $9 from EZBuy. Price has increase though.
The lace is very bridal and it came with a small pouch so I could pack my items in the pouch.
My Matron-of-Honour carried it for me.

Things You Might Not Need But Good to Have:

1. Band aids - Especially if you are wearing new shoes.

2. Safety Pins - This will come in handy to both you and your groom if there are wardrobe malfunction.

3. Nail Top Coat - If your nail decor or the sequins from your dress falls off, this will be your quick dry glue.

4. Candies - So you get a quick energy boost. Many websites recommend granola bar, which I really don't understand. They are hard to consume quickly and discretely. Plus they have so many ingredients that might get stuck in your teeth! Also, food with fibre/nuts might also cause bloating for some. So I personally feel candies are good enough for some sugar/energy charge. Choose something that you know is easy to finish so you won't look like a hamster in photos or have to spit it out unglamly. It should also have sugar and does not stain your mouth and/or tongue.

5. Eyedrops - So your eyes look shiny and bright in photos. This is especially for those who wears contact lenses.

6. Ang Paos - Pack a few small Ang Paos in your bag just in case you need to tip someone who you forgot or did not expect.

7. Extra Thumb Drive with Your Videos, Audios etc - In case anything happens you still have backup. I am a worrywart and had 6 thumb drives: 2x for Groomsmen, 2x for Bridesmaids, 2x for me and the hubs.

8. Small Wallet with CC and IC - You probably won't get to use any cash. But it will be useful to have your credit card along in case of any payment you need to make on the spot. And the IC in case you have solemnization.

9. Any Medication You Might Need - For example asthma inhaler, blood pressure meds etc. I personally brought along my trusty Antihistamines because I tend to have mysterious itch and swells.

10. A Few Cotton Swabs - To clean off eye or lip makeup that have smudged.

Things I Find Redundant:

1. Full Makeup Set - You won't have time to touch up everything. So a sponge for your foundation and a lipstick is more than enough. By the time you get to the hotel, your MUA will be there to do your second look.

2. Blotting Paper - Tissue will do a better and faster job without ruining your makeup.

3. Sewing Kit - Safety pins are faster and should be sufficient.

4. Power Bank - Maybe one is okay. You definitely don't need more. You won't have much chance to use your phone. Let your photographer do the job. Your phone battery should be able to lasts half a day, then you can always charge your phone once you reach your hotel.

5. Dental Kit - By then time you have time to check your oral hygiene, you should be at your hotel already. Your hotel suite will have the basic dental kits you need.

And just in case you want to know, the following are what I packed in the luggage that I brought to the hotel:
  • Toiletries for the 2 nights stay (must bring makeup remover and hair conditioner! You will need a lot of hair conditioner to soften your hair spray laden hair.)
  • Clothes and undergarments for the next day (you will need shoes too if your shoes are bridal pin heels)
  • Extra flats
  • Extra Nubra (You can also wash the one you wore and let it dry, it will dry before evening)
  • Plastic bag/cling wrap or case to put Nubra in (they are very sticky!)
  • Extra printed documents (Programme list, to-do for my groomsmen and bridesmaids, guest lists etc)
  • Pre-wedding shoot album
  • Gifts for bridesmaids
  • Gifts for my husband (gave him after the wedding)
  • Decor for reception table
  • Extra confetti for second march-in

And that's it!

Is this my shortest post yet? Haha! Hope it gave you an idea of what to pack. And of course, my list is not a one-size-fits-all but just what I feel and needed. You might have lesser and more things than me. :)

Do you have something you packed that saved your wedding day? Or something that was a disappointment? Or have any questions? Do share in the comments!
